Everyone has a role model in their life. For me its my older sister. My sister helps me and teaches me how to live life with God as my center. Lately, I have been thinking of creative ways to be that role model to other girls. So that they can know that there is a loving God that cares deeply for them. Also, being Christian girls we are called to take that first step in reaching out to other girls.
Philippians 2:4 says, “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” So today, I am going give you guys five creative ways to love and minister to other girls 1. Sunday Mornings For me, Sunday is one of my favorite days because it is my chance to teach little girls about God's love for them. I am a small group leader and just getting to be there is a treat. Use Sunday mornings as a chance to show love to others and it doesn't just have to be being a small group leader. Just talking to someone about their week is enough. 2. Everyday Life This is the easiest way for me to love on other girls. Simple invite them to join you in your everyday life. What is filling up your week right now? Summer jobs? School? Sports? Youth Activities? Bible Study? Small Groups? Worship Night? Sitting on your bed watching Netflix? Look at all these as opportunities to invite your friends to be apart of your everyday life. Growing your relationship with them and just bonding over simple things is powerful. 3. Starbucks Dates Not to lie ,but I love me some Starbucks. Nothing can beat one on one Starbucks dates. Its a great way to build friendships and see whats going on in their life. Show Christ's love through your love, words, and actions. Also, Starbucks never hurts. 4. Parties Plan a party with your new and old friends. Getting together during the summer is a great way to build amazing friendships that will last. Just hanging out at the pool is always fun. Also, if you never have hosted a party before....does not mean you can't start now. 5.Just talking Not everything has to be planned, sometimes the greatest moments just happen. Just be there for her. Just having a conversation about life can be powerful. My small group will just talk about life and then end the conversation all crying happy tears.

This world is full of distractions. Teachers, school, friends, family, YouTube, Instagram, grades, tests, and so much more that filled our everyday agenda. Lately I my seclude has been tight. Wake up at 6:00 go to school at 6:40. Finish school at 2:30 and walk to the drivers ed class. Come home at 5:30, get dinner, and study or do homework. Finally go to sleep. Yeah, pretty hectic. So, though all of this it can be hard hear God's voice. He is constantly speaking but we are so focused on our own lives and what is going on around us that we do not hear. Don't be upset, it just means that we need to put some time for God to speak. To listen to what He has to say. What I have been trying to do lately is when I wake up, walk to my mirror and say "Let this day be for you. Speak Lord I am listening". Amazingly, this helps me and helps focus my day on my Heavenly Father.
"Speak, for Your servant is listening." 1 Samuel 3:10 Have you ever looked in a mirror and you don’t look like everyone else in your class. It feels like everyone around you is the same. They all play the same sport, they all have their hair style, or even they all know the same jokes except you. This is hard for all kids. We want to be like everyone else. So people will push it until they are like everyone, but the style changes or the funny joke is not funny anymore. You worked so hard to be like everyone else you forgot that you are amazing and beautiful. The things that make you different is what makes you unique. Embrace your flaws. Your flaws make you perfectly imperfect just the way God made you. Don’t try to be like everyone else. It is a lot of hard work that makes you feel horrible. Be who you are, and soon everyone else will want what you have. So be yourself perfectly imperfect.
I have always wanted to go on a mission trip. Being able to be a light for my heavenly father. It would be amazing, but sadly not everyone can go to India, Canada, or Heidi. Well, did you know that you are in a mission field. Being a Christian in a world full of sin is not easy. It never has and I do not think it is going to get any easier. I do know that you and I can be a light for God. I am in public high school, an environment where being salt and light can be a struggle, but I am starting to realize that this is my mission field. A place where people do not accept or do not know Jesus. We can be a light by just talking about it once and a while, or listening to christian music and rock out on the bus. I know its not easy and being a light will make you a target. Say strong, put on your armor of the spirit, and step out onto the mission field. It is right outside your door.
Wow, I can't believe that school is not so far away. I am starting high school and I am freaking out. It feels like yesterday my fifth grade friends and I were sitting together, talking about how we were going to dominate high school. Now the two emotions that I'm feeling are excitement and fear. Which is normal. I know it is going to be a new experience. If you are starting high school or just coming back for another year, we are going to go through it together. One crazy step at a time.
