Back in freshman year, I was talking to some friends of mine and somehow the conversation turned towards movies. My friends brought up a movie that I did not now. I did not know how to contribute to the conversation. I felt left out and I wanted to know whats up with whats up. With phones, media, movies, magazines, it feels like the worlds is constantly wanting you to do this or be this. Even though, not all of it is pleasing to God. It is a struggle for me, because I want to be a normal teenage girl. Then I found this verse and I have been reading it lately.
"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2 You don't have to follow the things of this world, because they are going to change. We need to stay focused on God because He never changes. He cares deeply for us and He made you immensely beautiful.

Everyone has a role model in their life. For me its my older sister. My sister helps me and teaches me how to live life with God as my center. Lately, I have been thinking of creative ways to be that role model to other girls. So that they can know that there is a loving God that cares deeply for them. Also, being Christian girls we are called to take that first step in reaching out to other girls.
Philippians 2:4 says, “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” So today, I am going give you guys five creative ways to love and minister to other girls 1. Sunday Mornings For me, Sunday is one of my favorite days because it is my chance to teach little girls about God's love for them. I am a small group leader and just getting to be there is a treat. Use Sunday mornings as a chance to show love to others and it doesn't just have to be being a small group leader. Just talking to someone about their week is enough. 2. Everyday Life This is the easiest way for me to love on other girls. Simple invite them to join you in your everyday life. What is filling up your week right now? Summer jobs? School? Sports? Youth Activities? Bible Study? Small Groups? Worship Night? Sitting on your bed watching Netflix? Look at all these as opportunities to invite your friends to be apart of your everyday life. Growing your relationship with them and just bonding over simple things is powerful. 3. Starbucks Dates Not to lie ,but I love me some Starbucks. Nothing can beat one on one Starbucks dates. Its a great way to build friendships and see whats going on in their life. Show Christ's love through your love, words, and actions. Also, Starbucks never hurts. 4. Parties Plan a party with your new and old friends. Getting together during the summer is a great way to build amazing friendships that will last. Just hanging out at the pool is always fun. Also, if you never have hosted a party before....does not mean you can't start now. 5.Just talking Not everything has to be planned, sometimes the greatest moments just happen. Just be there for her. Just having a conversation about life can be powerful. My small group will just talk about life and then end the conversation all crying happy tears. |
